Music has the power to help you heal.
Different music touches us in a different way depending on our experiences, on what we relate it to or whether it speaks to our soul on a much deeper level.Â
Below I talk about Mantras - a style of music that I find extremely helpful and uplifting.
I listen to them often, even when working. I am a true believer in the energy that goes into the projects I work on, therefore being conscious about the environment in which I work is very important to me.
Music has the power to make you feel at peace. Music has the power to make you feel like floating. Music has the power to help you heal.
Yoga teaches us that mantras are sounds of the Divine, sounds of the Great Consciousness. It is believed that different mantras relate to different aspects of the Great Consciousness.
Personally, I believe that you don't have to be religious or spiritual to enjoy listening to or singing a mantra. They have an incredibly calming energy and truly have the power to bring back into stillness.
The first time I heard a mantra was during my first day when visiting Bali.
I remember walking into the outdoor restaurant that was on site, through a little bridge over a tiny little pond with fishes swimming in it. I stopped and listened as the most peaceful sound entered my ears and what felt like right through my whole body.
I didn't know what that music was, but I couldn't stop listening. This beautiful feeling washed over me - a feeling of calmness and peace. I still get goosebumps just thinking about it.
Ever since then, mantras have a very special place in my heart. I listen to them pretty much daily, while getting ready in the morning, while working or meditating. They truly are powerful.
The word 'mantra' itself can be broken into two parts - 'man' means mind, 'tra' means transport or a vehicle. Mantra not only can be seen as an instrument of our mind, sound or a vibration that is very powerful, it can even be used to enter a deep states of meditation.
By repeating it often, a mantra can energise an intention - you plant the little seed of intention and can watch it grow.
Peaceful Mantras Playlist
I have created a playlist with some of my favourite mantras.
They are beautiful for healing, calming down or simply to help you feel good.Â
They can help you come back to stillness too.
Have a listen and enjoy ♡
I also have a little something else for you..
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo Mantra
This mantra truly has a special place in my heart.
I heard it during some tricky times and it has stayed with me since.
I have heard and read some incredible stories of how it has helped people who listened to it as a daily practice. You can check the comments below the video and see for yourself too.
Find a quiet space, close your eyes and listen.
Allow yourself to float away for a little while.
See how freeing it feels.
Enjoy my loves!
